Companion Animal Hospital was originally founded in 1971 by Dr. Causey after a distinguished career as a professor at the University of Georgia Vet School. Dr. Georgia Malnati, a board certified surgeon, took over the reins and added on to the original building producing what we currently have today. When the time came for George to pass the torch of this outstanding Athens institution, he personally chose Drs. Denise Weaver and Troy Pickeral, both graduates of UGA.
Denise and Troy have owned CAH since 1999. The hospital employs 10-14 people at any time, including students working to gain experience and knowledge for veterinary school. They honestly stress the importance of good service and communication with their clients. "We invite you to drop by and we thank you for your interest in Companion Animal Hospital."
Besides preventing unwanted puppies and kittens, the procedure can also prevent many health and behavioral problems, thus allowing your pet to live a longer healthier life.
Un-neutered male animals roam and fight more, thus lowering their life expectancy and quality of life.
