Companion Animal Hospital Doctors
Drs. Denise Weaver and Troy M. Pickerel have owned Companion Animal Hospital since 1999.
Troy received his Bachelor degree in Chemistry from The University of Indianapolis and his Master's degree in Animal Behavior and Reproduction from UGA. In 1995, he graduated from UGA with his degree in Veterinary medicine. he then purchased "Country Health Large Animal Vet Services" in Commerce. Troy's special interests include reproduction, embryo transfer, and orthopedic surgery. Troy is one of only two AETA certified embryo transfer technicians in the southeast(Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama, Florida and Mississippi). His embryo transfer services Portion of the practice is also certified by the American Embryo Transfer Association.
Denise is a 1994 graduate of UGA with an undergraduate in Zoology. Denise and Troy have been married 17 years and have 4 children who attend Athens Christian School. They love this community and feel that Athens is a great place to live and raise children.
Elizabeth Laminack, DVM
Elizabeth is a 2008 graduate of the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. She was a first honor graduate from Reinhardt College in North Georgia where she received her undergraduate degree in Biology. Liz has lived in Athens for the past seven years with her husband Philip Laminack. She has been a team member at Companion Animal Hospital since June of 2008. Her four legged family includes calico cat “Gracie”, Italian Greyhound “Watson”, orange collie mutt “Max”, brown mutt “Buddy”, Irish Sport Horse “Killarney”, and half a pint of a paint pony “Tybee!”. Her hobbies include equestrian activities/and all things horse, running, , traveling, watching all things baseball, and reading. Elizabeth’s favorite type of veterinary case usually involves Ophthalmology. Also, she enjoys general surgery, preventative medicine, and endocrinology. |
